What is Cricket Blast?

Cricket Blast is a short, fast, fun way of introducing the game of cricket to children aged 7-12 years. It is run throughout the year so there are plenty of opportunities to come and try the experience. Each session will last just two hours and the children will be divided into teams of six-a-side. Most importantly, every child will have a chance to bat, bowl and field for the same amount of time as all the others, regardless of ability.

We hope that after experiencing the fun atmosphere and rewarding game structure of Cricket Blast, kids will want to experience more. As such we will have representatives from local clubs present at every event to pass on information about their activities and answer any questions for anyone who wishes to play some more.

We hope to actively encourage parents to become involved in the Cricket Blast program and believe that this could be the favourite time of the week for any family. Support at the ground will help encourage a great atmosphere that will be accompanied by high energy music to go alongside the fast paced action, and with the pitches being smaller than normal cricket grounds the games will be high scoring – meaning the participants will finish each week wanting to come back for more.
